The faculty of the Department of Pathology is continuously striving to achieve academic excellence and improvement in human health. The Department of Pathology is involved in teaching of undergraduate students of MBBS, BDS, Nursing & Allied Health Sciences. The department is headed by Prof. Maria Aslam (MBBS, M. Phil, CHPE, CME) and is supported by qualified and dedicated faculty members. The department has well equipped student's laboratories, museum with more than 267 specimens revealing pathological aspects of various diseases, hospital laboratory and Blood bank.
Prof. Muhammad Tahir Saeed (MBBS, DCP, M. Phil) is the incharge of Pathology laboratory SMCH. The Pathology Laboratory performs a complete array of routine as well as specialized investigations. It has fully equipped histopathology, hematology, microbiology, and chemical pathology laboratories. It caters to the needs of patients of Sharif medical city and the catchment area through its collection points. It is providing 24/7, 365 days a year laboratory services to indoor & outdoor patients. A team of qualified and dedicated faculty and technical staff is committed to keeping the standards of the laboratory.
