World Arthritis Day 2026 celebrated at Sharif Medical City Hospital, Lahore

Lahore, 12 October 2026: The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Sharif Medical & Dental College and Sharif Medical City Hospital, Lahore, celebrated World Arthritis Day 2026 under the theme ‘From Hip Preservation to Replacement’.

The event brought together leading clinicians, senior professors, medical professionals and students from public and private sector medical institutions across Lahore.

Distinguished faculty members delivered talks on arthritis prevention, early diagnosis, modern management strategies and the latest treatment options available to patients in Lahore, Punjab and across Pakistan.

The major highlights of the symposium included a live hip replacement surgery performed by Professor Dr Farooq Azam Khan and the inauguration of robotic hip replacement by Professor Nausheen Raza, Principal of Sharif Medical & Dental College.

The symposium provided a platform for academic discussion, clinical knowledge sharing and awareness of advances in hip preservation and joint replacement surgery.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Dr Farooq Azam Khan, followed by the presentation of souvenirs to distinguished faculty members by Principal Professor Nausheen Raza.
