Sharif Orthopedic & Joint Replacement Center of Excellence (SORCE)

Sharif Orthopedic & joint Replacement Center of Excellence (SORCE) is committed to provide the best possible services of joint replacement services to the patients at a cost-effective rate and to promote research and advanced training in joint replacement surgeries. To date, there is no precedence of dedicated centers in joint replacement in public or private sector hospitals. The center is equipped with state of the art modular type A theatre suite with all the essential requirements for joint replacement surgeries. There is a dedicated rehabilitation and physiotherapy center working in close collaboration for the joint replacement patients. Recently the center has benchmarked the figure of 500 joint replacement surgeries. The center is routinely catering to primary as well as revision surgeries. The center is contributing to the National Joint Registry and working in close collaboration with Pakistan Arthroplasty Association.
In 2021 this center has feathered various academic achievements including a National level seminar on 'Modular Theater in Joint Replacement' in the University of health sciences, Lahore. The seminar was attended by orthopedic surgeons all across Punjab. A 'Live Total Knee Replacement Surgery' symposium was held in Sharif Medical & Dental College in September and attended by an eminent orthopedic surgeon is and trainee doctors. The center also organized a Mock examination for fellowship candidates in collaboration with the College of Physicians and surgeons, Pakistan in December.
The center is aiming to initiate Robotic-assisted joint replacement surgeries which will be a breakthrough for patients and the first of its kind in Pakistan.


Fortnightly meeting of Orthopaedic

A hybrid Fortnightly meeting was organized by the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Sharif Medical & Dental College, Lahore. The meeting was attended physically and virtually by eminent Orthopaedic surgeons of Lahore from reputable private and public sector hospitals. The Department presented complicated cases managed successfully at Sharif Medical City Hospital. The management of these patients was discussed and appreciated by the peer group.
