ANATOMY

Prof. Nausheen Raza (MBBS, M.Phil) is Head, Department of Anatomy. She has vast experience of teaching the subject to both undergraduates and post graduate students for over 31 years. She has been a facilitator for various basic medical science postgraduate courses. She received training in workshop series for Master Trainers in Medical Education from the UHS, Lahore, which is in addition to attending various other training workshops on Medical Education. Presently her Masters in Health Profession Education is underway.

The department is well supported by highly qualified and committed faculty as per PMDC requirements.

The department has a spacious dissection hall with human cadaveric dissection and demonstration stations for students; supported by a mortuary having two mortuary plants and a well equipped specimen preparation and storage room.
There is a spacious histology laboratory having requisite equipment for tissue processing and slide preparation in addition to binocular, multi head and research microscopes. The histology slide bank has a vast collection of microscopic slides of human and animal tissues. Students have free access to this bank. State of the art anatomy museum has more than 150 prepared specimens from human organs and tissues and over 40 models in display. Additional teaching material includes charts, torsos and human skeletons. Departmental bone bank has over 2600 human and 50 plastinated bones which are issued to the students for study purpose.
