Sharif Infertility & Reproductive Endocrinology Center (SIREC)

OBJECTIVE

This Centre will provide state-of-the-art infertility services for the diagnosis and management of infertile couples and helping the couples achieve successful pregnancies when faced with fertility challenges. In addition, it will provide opportunities for post graduate trainees to gain basic knowledge and advanced skills in Human Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility under the supervision of qualified faculty/supervisors.

Services offered in the Centre

The center will offer a range of services aimed at diagnosing and treating fertility issues in couples.

Diagnostic Services

  • Comprehensive fertility assessments for both men and women.
  • Hormonal evaluations to identify imbalances affecting reproductive health.
  • Imaging studies such as ultrasounds and fluoroscopy to assess the condition of reproductive organs and follicles size.

For Female Evaluation following services are offered including

TRANSVAGINAL SCAN (TVS):

Transvaginal ultrasound (TVS) is commonly used for follicular tracking in the context of fertility treatment. Follicular tracking involves monitoring the development and maturation of ovarian follicles, which contain the eggs.

FLUOROSCOPY

It is a medical imaging technique that uses a continuous X-ray beam to create real-time, moving images for study of female reproductive tract including uterine shape and fallopian tubes.

HYSTEROSALPINGOGRAPHY (HSG):

It involves the use of X-ray imaging to examine the uterus and fallopian tubes. HSG can provide valuable information about the shape and structure of the uterine cavity and the patency (openness) of the fallopian tubes.

HORMONAL ASSAY

Full range of hormonal profile including AMH, S. FSH, S. LH, S. TSH, S. Prolactin are offered at center.

MALE FACTOR INFERTILITY

Male factor infertility can contribute to fertility challenges, and addressing any identified issues can be crucial for successful conception.

For Male Evaluation following services are offered including

HUSBAND SEMEN ANALYSIS (HSA)

Semen analysis is a basic step in evaluation of female infertility. It is used to assess various parameters of semen quality, including, semen volume, count, motility and morphology.

TESTICULAR BIOPSY

The testicular tissue obtained through biopsy is examined under a microscope to assess the presence and quality of sperm, as well as to evaluate the overall health of the testicular tissue.

HORMONAL ANALYSIS

Full range of hormonal profile including. Serum testosterone, S. FSH, S. LH, S. TSH, S. Prolactin is carried out in the center.

ENDOCRINOLOGY SERVICES

• Management of hormonal disorders affecting fertility.
• Treatment of conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and thyroid disorders, and hyperprolactinaemia.

TREATMENTS OFFERED

1. Ovulation induction therapy:
2. Laparoscopy.
3. Detailed guidance on Assisted reproductive techniques including intrauterine insemination, in-vitro-fertilization and ICSI, PESA, MESA, TESE, and PGD.
