The Department is headed by Prof. Muhammad Shahid Iqbal (MBBS, DCH, MCPS, FCPS). He is an experienced teacher and has headed Community Medicine Department of various medical colleges. The Department is engaged in imparting knowledge and skills to the medical students regarding the preventive, social, public and community health. This enables them to learn, apply and provide preventive, curative and rehabilitative services to the ailing community. The Departmental museum has requisite models and specimens for student learning and its laboratory is well equipped for students' practical demonstrations under the supervision of experienced faculty and health professionals. The regular field visits notified in the time-table is an important feature of the subject curriculum.
